Check this out!

Ok. I am going to share this with my blogger friends and feel free to pass this on to other friends! I found the most helpful tool to keeping track of what I have been eating etc. It's called www.myfitnesspal.com. You can track your foods online AND with your phone if you download the FREE app! There is no joining fee at all, you just sign-up with an email and then you can keep everything logged! With the app on your phone (those of you who have a smartphone) can actually scan the bar-code of what you are eating and it automatically enters Calories, fat, sodium, etc. right to your log!

You simply type in the food that you ate and then search for the food in the drop down list and then select the amount you consumed. Most of the times the food has already been put in the system, so you don't have to input the info! If you cannot find the food, like I said you can scan the bar-code or manually input the info!

Along with exercises, it keeps track of EVERYTHING FOR YOU!! It shows you progress reports. The more you keep up with the info, the easier and faster it is to keep track! It's definitely my new favorite app on my phone!

I'm telling you, it is so fun and SO EASY!! I suggest getting your own account and start tracking! You can also find friends and keep up-to-date on how they are doing!

So, check out www.myfitnesspal.com and have FUN!

Life's Got Flipped, Turned UpSide Down!

Hello Hello Everyone!!!

I apologize for not blogging for the past couple of weeks, but if I can quote the infamous Fresh Prince - "My life's got flipped, turned upside down"! There has been a lot going on, but I am continuing to keep my head up and really know who I am!!

I am not sure if you had read on my previous blogs, but have recently completed the AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge! WOO WOO!

I am currently on the "MNS Max C Phase" to control appetite. I am doing well! I think one of the biggest issues I do have is portion control. I am not very aware of the amount of food that I do put into my body...

I attended the Spring Breakthrough on Saturday, May 14 to learn about AdvoCare. I was really enlightened about everything I learned.

One of the things I learned from Dr. Judith Smith, MD was the fact that a person still needs to be aware of the calories that they are putting into their body, even if it is healthy foods. I have a hard time with "thinking" that I am hungry or "thinking" I am not full and there are times where I tend to over-eat.

I am now trying to track the actual amount of calories in the fruits and vegetables that I do eat! I signed up for a free app on my phone called "My Fitness Pal, Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker". It is SO COOL! I am actually learning so many more things about the food that I am eating. This "tracker" is helping me be even more conscious with what I am eating. Seriously, I have a "favorite wrap" that I have at Kwik Trip. It's the Turkey & Cheddar Flatbread Wrap.... Oh my goodness... did I have a freaking wake-up call today. I have been choosing this option for lunches, quite frequently because I saw on the packaging.... "Gundersen Lutheran 500 Calorie Option", I was thinking, AWESOME!! I looked at the nutrients:

Calories: 330
Sat. Fat: 4g
Total Carbs: 32g
Fiber: 3g

Looks pretty healthy, doesn't it! Of course it does. That's what they have printed smack-dab on the top of the packaging. WELL.... The app has a cool feature to input information on your "Frequent" foods. So, they had input areas for Calories, Fiber, carbs, etc............ AND I HAD TO "PEEL BACK FOR NUTRITION & INGREDIENTS" UNDER THE LABEL................Want to know the Sodium?!?!?!?!

SODIUM: 1340mg (56%DV).......... MORE THAN HALF OF MY DAILY INTAKE OF SODIUM!!!!

Honestly, that made me sick, just thinking of all that Sodium in one, small wrap... So, I input everything in my app to track what I had been consuming throughout the day so far....

As of right now I am -126 for the amount of Sodium I should have in my diet....

I guess I'll be thinking twice before I consuming foods I don't read the labels.... They tend to get a lil sneaky....

Melisa's 24-Day Challenge Recap!!!!

I'm guessing this is what you've all been waiting for.........DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!!!!

That's right.... the official measurements: 11.5 inches lost and a total of 8.4lbs lost!!

WHAT.THE.HECK!! I still cannot believe that AdvoCare has worked! I mean, it's only been 24 Days.

I am going to continue on the products and continue to work out and keep this blog of my achievements. I don't have a set goal for my weight-loss. The major thing is that I feel and look healthy. I'm doing my best to keep eating well and NOT have candy and sweets control my life!

So, the afternoon didn't pan out as well as I wanted it to, but Cole and I went to Tres Compadres for dinner. We had chips and salsa along with "Compadre Nachos" which consisted of chips, lettuce, tomatoes, chicken pieces, cheese, cheese sauce and guacamole. I had mostly chips and salsa. They tasted ok to me... When our nachos arrived, they looked yummy because of the lettuce and goodies covering the mound of chips. I had my fair share of the nachos, and they tasted good! But I did not feel like I had to keep eating until I was completely miserable.

When I got home I cleaned and did some misc. crunches while I was cleaning and talking on the phone. My night actually got away on me!! I forgot to get my butt over to Becky's class at Shake 'N Shed. My washer went kaplooey last night and I tried to be my own maintenance lady and fix it myself. Being that my washer is a combination unit (i.e. dryer on top of my washer) and the dryer still worked, I put my skills to work to try and get the dang thing to work. It took some trial and error, but after about an hour of moving and circuit breaker switching, I finally got the dang thing to work! Yes!

Anyways, I was hungry for a snack and I had a couple of grapes and 2 hard boiled eggs along with 2 OmegaPlex :)

Day 24 was great!! I bet you're wondering what my results were......... HAHA! Next blog please!

I was staring at the pack of iced cookies on the back counter at work. I literally had the pack in my hands and I was trying to decode the ingredients on the back of the package. I was looking for some of the bad stuff that I wasn't suppose to eat. I saw most of the ingredients were things that I recognized and I couldn't break down and "just have one". In the past I would "just have one" because my self-control was non-existent. I couldn't even tell myself "no". Literally in the back of my mind, I had this craving and impulse to eat the sweets that were staring me in the face. I wouldn't care if I were "trying to be good" or not. My impulse was just to eat the cookie and get on with my life. NOT TODAY. I didn't even feel like it!

I even had the chance to eat a slice of cake at the ribbon cutting that we had at noon. I didn't even "feel" like I wanted a piece. It didn't even look good to me. Sure, it was easy enough for me to down the piece of cake and never think about it again. Sure, it could have been the polite thing to do, but I just didn't want to. UNREAL. That NEVER happens to me. I always have that "guilt" in my mind that I don't want to hurt people's feelings if I don't consume whatever they have to offer. I'm sorry, but I respectfully decline.... And why is "respectfully declining" such a big deal?? In our society, it is looked down upon if you do not consume what it put in front of your face. Guess what, you have the choice and the right to say no! If someone were to put drugs in your face, would you say... "Ok, just a little"? No. (Well, I would hope you would say no.) I know drugs aren't as harmful as the piece of cake is, but in the overall aspect of what you put in your body..., you don't really know what either one will have an effect on your body. I now choose to be in charge of what foods I put in my body. They might not always be the healthiest, but at least I am aware of it!

Okey okey... Back to my recap of the 2nd to last day!!!

Zumba with Anne & Dani!!

After Zumba, I was hungry and I knew that I was really craving fruits, so I stopped out to Woodmans and got my "Fruit fix". (That seems so weird that I have a fruit craving, because before, I was addicted to candy!!) I bought potatoes, strawberries, grapes, baby carrots, cantaloupe, and tomatoes.

After I was done shopping, I was driving on my way home. I was SUPER hungry after working out and then walking around Woodman's for a while. I needed to have something...So I ate 2 tomatoes on the way home. And guess what, I will not allow myself to wear a white coat while eating tomatoes... :P

Supper:
(✓) 3 Tomatoes (including the ones on the drive home)
(✓) Can of Tuna
(✓) Handful of baby carrots
(✓) 2 Servings of Strawberries with sugar alternative.

My goodness, I sure felt good at the end of the day! Bring on Day 24!!!

Day 21 - May 1st

Today was another slow start to the morning. I woke up around 9:30 a.m.ish and I was meeting my friend Desiree for a morning of bumming around :)

I didn't have the best start to the morning because I wasn't timing my packets very well...

10:30 a.m.ish
(✓) 1st Yellow Packet
(✓) 3 Catalyst
11:00 a.m.ish
(✓) 1st White Packet
(✓) Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake
11:30 a.m. ish
(✓) 2nd Yellow Packet
12:30 p.m.ish
(✓) 2nd White Packet with Lunch
(✓) Chef Salad with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, chicken slices, & ham strips with Italian vinaigrette dressing.
The salad at Perkins was great! It had a lot of good stuff on it :) I didn't want the bacon and ham strips they had placed on it and I'm glad I didn't get it with cheese. That would have made me too full and probably would have given me a stomach ache!

Lunch with Desiree was great! I miss her and I am so glad that she is now living in Madison with her husband and her son! I can't believe that she is actually living close to my sister! That was so awesome to hear! I can't wait to hang out with her more often! :)

So, I went and did some shopping at Walgreens and then I headed over to the mall to walk around for a bit. I got a couple of items (ON SALE!) so that was pretty exciting :)

Cole then met up with me and he was getting his Jeep cleaned out and so we headed over to Panera for something for him to eat.

I wasn't very hungry especially since I just ate basically 2 meals back-to-back!

I got a Mango Smootie. I saw that the only dairy she put in the smootie was yogurt, so it wasn't too bad. I think they had labeled that it was only 290 calories. It tasted good, but it took me a while to drink it down. Cole & I then walked around for a while to different stores while we waited for his car to be done.

So, after a day of bumming around, I pretty much felt tired so I decided to take a nap around 5:30 p.m. last night. Probably not the smartest decision I made, but I really needed to rest. So I took a nap for a couple of hours and woke up around 7 p.m.ish. I felt good, but then I got a second wind, so I decided to clean my place :) I clean for a while and I was getting everything organized. It doesn't really take me that long to clean my place, but it's just getting the motivation to do so!!

I was up until 11:30 p.m. last night, doing my last minute cleaning and organizing :) but, I do have to say that my place is looking really good! Now, if only my dishes would do themselves.

I was a little hungry when I was cleaning so around 7:30 p.m.ish I had:
(✓) small boiled potato
(✓) Banana
(✓) apple
Yay for day 21!

Day 20 - April 30th

Good Morning Saturday!

(✓) 3 Catalyst
11:45 a.m.ish
(✓) 1st White Packet

(✓) 2nd Yellow Packet with water
2:15 p.m.ish
(✓) 2nd White Packet
(✓) Kwik Trip Turkey, Cheddar, Tomato wrap
(✓) Banana

So, just a small recap - I was out at the Haunted House from 11:45 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. we all did a fair share of cleaning/moving things and I definitely was breaking a sweat from cleaning! I was motivated to get the ball rolling on getting things organized for the Haunted House! I could say that I did about 3 hours of steady cleaning/moving around, so that was my work out for Saturday!

I really had a MAJOR craving for the cookies that Gordo brought out to the Haunted House from Kwik Trip! They are those mini m&m cookies. I kept sneaking a couple here and there, and I think I had a total of 7 throughout my cleaning for the whole afternoon! They did taste pretty good, but I didn't over-do it with eating them. I also probably had a handful of cheddar cheese chips. They didn't really do much for me. I wasn't interested in sitting there and eating them all! I figured I would have pretty much counter-acted the cookies & handful of chips, by cleaning that much :)

Anyways, after I was done with cleaning around 6:30 p.m.ish, I headed home and I had myself some supper:

(✓) 4 boiled potatoes
(✓) 2 Servings of salmon
(✓) Banana

Day 19 - April 29th

5:00 p.m.
For some reason, I was super hungry and I had some leftover "chuck wagon baked beans" that I ate a small container of. My stomach didn't feel the best after I had eaten them... I could tell they weren't the best food choice that I could have made at that moment...

I'm still doing good though! I'm feeling good and I am making conscious good food choices! I don't even have to "turn the other cheek" when it comes to my sweet tooth anymore, sweets really aren't as attractive as they once were... I DIG the fact that I'm losing my candy eating habits! Woo WOO!

Day 17 - April 27th

Good Morning! Today was an early start for me! I had a breakfast meeting I had to coordinate, so I had to be up earlier than usual.

I'm going off track a little before I continue my recap of today... I just wanted to touch on the AdvoCare Meal Replacement Shakes. With the 24-Day Challenge, it comes with a package of 14 Meal Replacement Shakes. People have told me.... "Oh they're so good" and what-not and I was thinking... I did the whole Slim Fast Diet with the meal replacement shakes, yes, they were good, but the mixture of the Slim Fast powder and milk, it really messed me up big time... And by "mess me up", I mean, the Slim Fast wanted to leave my body as fast as I put it in. I never had a problem with milk itself, but gosh, did I have the WORST rumbling stomach after I drank an 8 oz. glass of the Slim Fast mixture. UGH. I thought it was "part of the process" of losing weight. I didn't know that I was actually harming my body!

What I am saying is that I've tried the Slim Fast method and lost some weight. What I didn't know, was the fact that I was "running" to the bathroom all the time, I caused myself to hurt my rear (I am not going into details, because that is just gross and uncomfortable {literally!!!}). I had to go to the doctor to get checked out. But once I stopped with the Slim Fast, I then progressively got better and I'm do well to this date.

I knew that I couldn't let myself get that bad and be that uninformed about a product that I would put in my body. I couldn't sacrifice my health for the cheap price and the "guarantees" to lose a pant size in a certain amount of weeks.

I did my research on AdvoCare and I am still learning about the AdvoCare products. One thing that I know for sure is, is that I am putting the highest quality nutrients in my body that all work together for my better wellness.

A lot of times, people are worried about how many pounds that a person has lost. To me, pounds come with time and effort. The FEELING I am receiving from AdvoCare is so great! Also, a lot of times, people have the pre-conceived notion that when you are taking "vitamins", you've got to be careful and be aware of "this and that" ingredient... but did you stop and look at all the ingredients on the side of that bag of chocolates? Or what is in that burger to make it taste SOOO GOOD? There are so many things that people are unaware they are putting in their bodies. And I was EXACTLY that kind of person. If I may quote my friend Becky before she discovered AdvoCare... "AdvoCare is just a bunch of expensive pee". I think that is one of my favorite AdvoCare quotes! And that is what I thought. Vitamins, schm-itamins. I don't need them, nor do I want to take all this crap to be "healthy".

SERIOUSLY!?!?! If you don't take vitamins or other supplements, how can you combat all the mixture of ingredients/crap in the other food you are currently eating!? I mean, you can barely get fresh veggies or fruits without having them injected to LOOK pretty. I am not here to be a "hippie" and be all "love the earth", "natural is best" and yadda yadda yadda... but ya know, so many things now-a-days have to LOOK good in order to have someone eat it... YEAH, IT LOOKS GOOD... but what have they done to the food to make it look like that?!

Ok, ok, enough soap-boxing for now. But, I just wanted to let people know that I was there before AdvoCare. I was that person that didn't care about what was in the food I ate, as long as it tasted good....

I love and care about all of my family and friends. I want them all to be around for a long time! The world isn't getting any easier to make the "right decisions" when you see the commercials of giant lips talking about ice cream cakes and girls licking their ankles from dripping burger sauce. Com'ON!!

AnyWAYS! :)

Today, my vitamin packets went down well!

ZUMBA with Becky!! WOOT²!
Water, water, water!
All I have to say is WOW...... ZUMBA Toning & ZUMBA with Becky was GREAT!! Oh my goodness! I was shakin' it like a stuck salt shaker! It was so much fun! BUT! The best part of the night was GROCERY SHOPPING!!

Seriously, I am the WORST when it comes to grocery shopping. I have no idea what I am looking for etc. It was so awesome, but after ZUMBA, Becky asked if I wanted to do a "Power Walk" at Woodmans. I was like...whoa... 2 straight hours of hard-core working out and NOW you want to do a "Power Walk" around Woodmans?! My thoughts were "Girl, you've gotsta be CRAZY! I don't want to go for another walk!"

Hahaha, I was TOTALLY wrong. Becky and I headed to Woodmans and she took me under her wing and showed me the tricks of the trade... "Power Shopping at Woodmans". I know it probably sounds silly, but I was so excited! Like I said, I have a HORRIBLE time grocery shopping.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm chocolate, ice cream, chips...... I hardly ever look at the ingredients. AND I love SALES. It was so great to go shopping with Becky and she showed me the "hot spots" where all the sale foods to look for and she also showed me what NOT to buy.

I was totally pumped because I needed groceries and now I know what to look for! I got, potatoes, tofu, chicken, lettuce, strawberries, spicy marinara sauces, 4 packages of frozen veggies, Almond Milk, (WHICH, I found out, by the way, can be used for cooking!!) and Smart Balance Buttery Spread. Grand Total: $16.53. WOOT WOOT! Holy Crap, that totally made my night. (Besides 2hrs of ZUMBAing!)

Here is my BIG props & thanks to Becky!! Ah! So fun/awesome/helpful! :)

So, when I got home, I was kinda hungry. I knew I shouldn't eat so close to bedtime, but I had some Salmon and a couple of strawberries that I just bought! YUM!

YAY for Day 17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 16 was one of the best days that I have had so far. I felt so confident with Zumba with wearing a tank top! I hated to show my arms, but literally, they are shrinking! YAYAYA!! :)

Can't wait for Day 17 :)

MNS 3

I thought I would add these two pictures of what MNS 3 is really about. People are always skeptical about the different things you put in your body. Here are the ingredients of the packets that I have been taking. Not many people think about the different ingredients that are in the fried/preserved foods, because they taste good. I know that I have been blinded by the "I know it's bad for you, but it tastes so good syndrome"... This is how AdvoCare can help with their quality ingredients!!

Blah-Di-Blah-Blogging :)

Here is Day 16! I am finally caught up with my blogging and I FEEL GREAT! (Besides the yucky weather)
---------------------------------
The thing with the 24-Day Challenge I have learned is that it's nice to have a positive regimen to look forward to everyday. If I don't take initiative for my own health, then I can't be the one to complain about how I look or feel. There are so many times in my life that I would be like "if only I could change this" and "if I could only be like this", and it's not all about that. I have found AdvoCare to be the positive regimen for me to be on.t the A lot of times I hear people say that they can do things on their own, and this can be true, but I have found something that really has given me that extra boost that I needed to make sure I am putting the best stuff in my body. I know there are skeptics and I was exactly one of them when I heard about AdvoCare. But it's like, why not pu best high quality vitamins and nutrients in your body?

I don't mean to sound like a preacher when it comes to AdvoCare, but it's quite amazing the results and feelings I have experienced so far. We only have "One Life to Live" and why not make it a great one? Why be worried about that "someday, I'll do something to change my bad habits", why not make it today?

I know some people probably think I am full-on INSANE that I took this leap of faith with the AdvoCare products, but I knew I needed something that was safe and would offer the results that I wanted. I have done a ton of research and I have met some amazing people through AdvoCare that have helped me with all of the questions I have had about the products.

Last night I went to an AdvoCare meeting where people were receiving recognition for their life changing experiences with AdvoCare. Their stories all started out like mine. Probably some people reading this think that I am brain-washed, etc., but I have seen how AdvoCare has changed people's lives and I want that for myself. Just the physical transformation I am seeing within 3 weeks of being on AdvoCare is simply amazing and I don't have time to wait around. No body had time to wait around. You can't wait for the "exact right time", because there never is quite the exact right time. All I know is that I want to be around for a long time. I want to lead by example and have a healthy life, and I believe I am doing so.

Honestly, I hate to be preached to, and I hate when all I can do is hear from "others' experiences". All I knew was that I wanted results, I wanted them now. I obviously wasn't taking care of my body, so I knew I needed help. I tried to lose weight on my own. I tried working out as much as I could. Everything wasn't connecting together until I found AdvoCare.

Day 13 - April 23rd

So, today brings me the day of the "weekend of Candy". Today, I had a late start....
11:00 a.m.ish
(✓) 1st Yellow Packet
11:30 a.m.ish
(✓) 1 white packet
(✓) Hard boiled Egg

I was honestly all sorts of "out of whack" for Day 13. I got my stuff together for my trip back home. On the way home, I had another "frozen fruit drink" that I had made the night before. I had it frozen over night and it was really hard to drink out of a straw that kept collapsing on me... :)

I got home and I was excited because my dad was grilling chicken and it was about time to eat. Well, I didn't realize what time it was and by the time it was ready to eat, I hadn't taken my "30 minutes Prior" Yellow lunch packet. So, I took both the "30 minutes Prior" Yellow Packet & my "With Lunch" White Packet all at once....

So for lunch, I had:
(✓) 1 Grilled Chicken Breast (bone-in + skin)
(✓) 1 serving of Potatoes
(✓) 1 Serving of Corn
(✓) 1 Small chef salad with hard boiled egg slices, tomatoes and French Dressing on the side

IT WAS SO YUMMY!

I felt good about my choices when it came to lunch. :)
Snack:
(✓) Bowl of Black Grapes (MY FAVE!)
-------------------------------
For some reason, I had in my head that I wanted to have chocolate. I did not have chocolate for 13 days and for SOME REASON, I felt compelled to sneak chocolate. I was thinking in my mind, oh, it's Easter, I'm allowed to have chocolate. Mind you, chocolate is my weakness and I am VERY weak when chocolate is in my presence. I felt like I wanted something to munch on at home and I was mindlessly looking through my parents cupboards, and I came across the mother-load. A bag full of chocolate candies! Oh my goodness, in my mind, I was all excited and I felt compelled to have me some candy. I didn't stop at some, I felt like I was a little kid sneaking candy (exactly what I have done in the past), I felt like I NEEDED to have these Hershey's Chocolate nuggets with Almonds. They looked delectable. I then took it upon myself to have SEVERAL, of these little chocolates. I think I had about 5 or 6 of them, when I was thinking "What am I doing".... A couple minutes later...

I HAD THE WORST STOMACH ACHE, EVER.....

Seriously, my stomach was SO UPSET! I was thinking... "Why did I put myself through this misery?" It was almost like an impulse that I could not control. Something that I couldn't control in the past, but with being on AdvoCare, my body way like, "Hey, Melisa! We can't handle you putting this crap in your body like you once did. We like being healthy, but you can't let chocolate control you!!"

Oh my goodness...It was such a bad feeling. Now that I think of it, I could have stopped at one, but that was my mind telling me that chocolate would make me feel better and that I have done it in the past, so why won't you binge again?

Ok.... well, that afternoon, my family and I went on a road trip to Tomah for some ice cream. I LOVE ICE CREAM, but I didn't want my stomach to go through more turmoil, so I ordered a wonderful raspberry, mango, lemon ice cooler. It was delicious :) I looked up the ingredients (after we all got home) and it wasn't too bad compared to the other choices I could have had!... 186 Calories, 46 Carbs, 39 Sugar.

So then we got home and we were hungry again:
(✓) Grilled Chicken Breast
(✓) small side of mashed potatoes
(✓) small serving of corn
(✓) unsalted peanuts.

Day 12 - April 22nd

Ok, Day 12!
8:00 a.m.ish
(✓) 1st Yellow Packet
(✓) 3 Catalyst
8:30 a.m.ish
(✓) 1 white packet
(✓) Meal Replacement Shake
Snack:
(✓) apple
I got done with work early today, (noon) so, it was tricky to time my 2nd Yellow Packet and my white packet.
11:30 a.m.ish
(✓) 2nd Yellow Packet
12:30 p.m.ish
(✓) 2nd White Packet
(✓) 2 servings of Salmon
(✓) Hard boiled Egg with pleasoning!
Snack:
(✓) Apple

This night, Cole and I met up to go to the Spartans game. I didn't eat supper by the time he came to pick me up, so I was hungry going into the game. We enjoyed the game, but by the end of things, we were both really hungry. We decided to go to Buzzard Billy's for dinner.
(✓) 3 OmegaPlex
(✓) Jamaican Jerk Chicken Salad. The salad contained iceberg lettuce, seasoned chicken breast chopped into strips, some cheese (which I mainly tried to avoid), tomatoes, and croutons. I am usually not a fan of croutons, but I did have most of them that were on my salad. I also had Italian vinaigrette dressing to dip.

Overall, the salad was pretty decent. I did like the flavor of the chicken, although I am not sure that was my best choice to have the croutons. I would rate this salad at an "ok" in my book :)

For some reason, if I eat later at night, I tend to "THINK" I'm hungry... By the time Cole and I were done eating, we were trying to figure out something else to do, and I had suggested to make "slushies". I was really craving fruit, so we went to Festival and bought, a frozen berry mix, ice, and the infamous "Strawberry Daiquiri" mix (minus the alcohol). THEY WERE A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. For a late night snack, I don't believe it was the smartest thing to have right before bed, but it was good none-the-less... :)

Day 11 - April 21st

Today marked the 11th day of my Challenge! This is the tricky part where I started the MNS® Max 3 Multinutrient Dietary Supplement regimen.

I was really hesitant to be taking multivitamins, because I haven't really thought that I needed to take them in the past. About a year ago, I went to the doctor and my check-up was just fine, but she suggested that I take a "multivitamin". I was like "ok" and didn't really think much about it. I then went to Wal-Mart and got the cheapest multivitamin that I could find, because I didn't want to spend the money on getting something that I didn't think I needed. I am currently looking at the bottle that I have had in my desk... "equate complete mulitivitamin".

Seriously though, what is in this stuff? I am trying to put good vitamins in my body, but yet I sacrificed quality for price... If I really cared about what was going into my body at that time, I would have realized that I was sacrificing quality ingredients for a cheaper price. I honestly did not care what I was putting into my body, as long it was a cheap price. But with AdvoCare, I realized that you do need the highest quality of ingredients and it shouldn't be a concern of price.

So Here is my recap of Day 11:
(Like I said, I was a little overwhelmed with the vitamins, but it was smooth sailing after the first packet)
7:30 a.m. -
(✓) 1st "Yellow Packet" (marked "take 30 min before breakfast) (actually, it's the packet with the "golden outline" the packet isn't completely yellow :))
(✓) 1 Spark
(✓) 3 Catalyst
Around 8:00 a.m.ish -
(✓) Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake (YUM!)
(✓) White packet (marked take with breakfast/lunch)
(✓) Apple for snack
Around 11:00 a.m.ish
(✓) 2nd "Yellow Packet" (marked "take 30 min before lunch)
Around 11:30 a.m.ish
(✓) White packet (marked take with breakfast/lunch)
(✓) Can of tuna
(✓) salad
(✓) 2 hard boiled eggs
Afternoon snack:
(✓) apple
(✓) banana
Supper:
(✓) 1/2 of my favorite Chicken Ranch Wrap at Pla Mor Lanes! (It's on the Gundersen Lutheran 500 Club!!!!)
(✓) 3 Catalyst before workout
After work, I headed to Zumba with Anne & Dani! I worked out for 1 hour of Zumba and 1 hour of Hip Hop Hustle!

I got home and I was pretty hungry
(✓) 3 omegaplex
(✓) The other 1/2 of my favorite Chicken Ranch Wrap

I thought Day 11 went pretty decent! :)

Day 10 - April 20th

Hello Everyone! I MADE IT TO DAY 10!!!!!!!!!!!! I am really feeling great about myself! I've seen changes in how clothes are fitting! They are fitting looser and I don't seem to have too much of a junky-trunk, extending out my backside! It's quite amazing how I feel. I believe this is one thing that AdvoCare has done for me. Honestly, my complexion has becoming clearer and I have more of a "glow" about me! It's probably because I have been hydrating my skin by drinking 'lots of water! ExCiTiNg!

Here is the update for Day 10:

Today was slightly stressful because of an event I had tonight, that I had to get planned for....

Breakfast:
(✓) Probiotic Restore with water in the morning
(✓) Fiber Drink (LAST ONE!!!!!)
(✓) Spark 30 minutes later
(✓) Banana

Throughout the day, I was SUPER busy, so I wasn't really concentrating on eating...

Lunch:
(✓) 4 Hard Boiled Eggs
(✓) Banana

Snack:
(✓) Apple

Around 2:00 p.m. I headed to set up for the event that night. I could tell I was HUNGRY! I was really focusing on getting the event together, so I wanted to get that done with before I really thought about food. After setting up for the event about 4:00 p.m., Cole had met me and we went to the Food Co-op to do a little grocery shopping. My stomach was telling me that I needed to feed is asap. I was even starting to get a little light-headed. I grabbed 4 apples, a bag of dried banana chips and a small salad to get me through until supper time.

Pre-Supper snack:
(✓) Handful of iceberg lettuce
(✓) couple peas
(✓) 5 cherry tomatoes
(✓) 1/2 of a Hard boiled Egg (Slices)
(✓) raspberry vinaigrette dressing (YUM!!)
(✓) 4 OmegaPlex

So, I was really hungry today. I couldn't help it. I thought I was doing well with my food choices and I tried to drink an extra water....

At the banquet/Supper:
(✓) Small Chicken breast with a teriyaki sauce
(✓) Veggie medley (I could tell they were sauteed with butter & spices :()
(✓) grilled potatoes with spices
......................................................
..............

And.............
..................
..........
.......
.........

..........
I regret to say... a SMALL slice of strawberry cheesecake...... It was so GOOD! I couldn't help it! It was really tastey. I suppose I could have saved it for a rainy day, but it was definitely sitting there for the entire meal...

Well, I'm going to let by-gones be by-gones! It was good and I have done well with the first 10 days :)

I told the truth! I will be better in the future :)

Day 9 - April 19th

I'm lacking on Blogging, but here is Tuesday!

Breakfast:
(✓) Probiotic Restore packet with Water
(✓) Fiber Drink
(✓) Mandarin Orange Spark 30 minutes later
(✓) 3 Hard Boiled Eggs!!

Snack:
(✓) Apple

Lunch:
(✓) 1 Can of Tuna
(✓) 1 Large baked potato with Pleasoning
(✓) 1 Hard boiled Egg with Pleasoning

Snack:
(✓) Banana

Supper:
(✓) 3 Servings of peas and broccoli
(✓) 4 OmegaPlex
(✓) 2 Servings of Salmon
(✓) 1 Hard Boiled Egg with Pleasoning

Snack:
(✓) apple

Day 9 was difficult as well. We had a ribbon cutting for a local pizza parlor. I really wanted to try their dessert pizza, along with their wonderful smelling breakfast pizza. Wow, it was tempting just to try something! I did not want to be rude, but I was cordial and talked with everyone while they were trying the foods. The owner asked if I wanted anything, and I respectfully declined. It was hard to do, especially because the food was made especially for us.

I am seriously feeling really good about myself and I didn't want to eat the foods because I was on day 9! Day 9 people!! I'm almost done with the first 10 days of the Challenge! I can't mess up now!!!!!!! :)

Day 8 - April 18th

Monday, Monday! Today was a busy day, but I will give you run down on what I have been doing!

Breakfast:
(✓) Probiotic Restore in the morning with water
(✓) Fiber Drink!
(✓) Banana

Snack:
(✓) apple

Lunch:
(✓) 3 Hard Boiled Eggs
(✓) apple
(✓) banana
(✓) large baked potato with pleasoning seasoning

Snack:
(✓) 2 Tomatoes from Kwik Trip

Supper:
(✓) 2 servings of Salmon
(✓) 3 servings of broccoli & corn boiled veggies
(✓) 4 OmegaPlex

Snack:
(✓) Banana

I felt really good about my choices that night. I had an event after work that had yummy hors d'oeurves, but I refrained from having them! They had some sort of wonderful looking pasta salad and meatballs! They both looked great, but I knew I had to stick to the 24-Day Challenge! :)

Monday, April 18, 2011

Day 7 - April 17th

Wow! One week!! I can't believe how fast this challenge is going!!!! I had a late start on Sunday, but that didn't stop me from being awake with my food selections for the day! Seriously, they are becoming easier and easier every day!

One of my biggest concerns about the 24-day Challenge was I was not able to eat at my favorite restaurants or that I wouldn't be able to eat anything if I did go to a restaurant.

Morning:
(✓) Probiotic Restore Packet
(✓) Spark (Mandarin Orange! YUM!)

So, yesterday, Cole asked me if I wanted to go to my most favoritest restaurant in the world...HuHot!!!!!!! Yum, yum, yum! What's nice about HuHot, is that you can choose your ingredients! (they are all frozen fresh) :)

Here is my Lunch/Dinner:
(✓) Pork pieces
(✓) Broccoli
(✓) Bamboo Shoots
(✓) peas
(✓) asparagus
The sauces were a little tricky because they do not list exactly what is in them. I tried for the ones that did not have added oils and/or soy sauce for less of a salt lick :) I choose their Mongol Mustard & Kung-Pao-Yow. After looking up the ingredients for the Mongol Mustard, I wasn't too happy to find out that there was a LOT of sodium + sugar in the Mongol Mustard. I did not have too many ladles of the sauces on my foods and most of sauce burns off on the grill. I will now know that my favorite "Kung-Pao-Yow" is one of the better selections!

I went up two times, so I had my daily allotment for foods by at least 4:00 p.m. that day :)

All-in-all, it was a good day for choices at the Mongolian Grill! Oooooo, it was so good!!!

Snack: (I was kind of hungry at 9:00 p.m. last night)
(✓) tomato!
(✓) herbal cleanse packet before bed... Oh yeah, and guess what?!?!? This was the last day for the "stinky gerbil packets"! HAHA!! Yes, I said it. I finally put two & two together. The herbal cleanse packet smells like "stinky gerbils"... Oh goodness......

Day 7 was a success & a FEEL GREAT!!! I tell you, I am feeling more confident with what I am wearing, clothes are starting to fit better and my "bluffin' muffin" seems to not want to come out and play! (And it can stay that way!!!)

Day 6 - April 16th

7:00 a.m. came too fast on a Saturday for me. But I was up and ready for a full day of activities with the Onalaska Jaycees!

Waking up:
(✓) Probiotic Restore Packet
(✓) Water
(✓) Banana for breakfast

Lunch: (Came later after the Easter Egg hunt, but I was HUNGRY by then!)
A couple of us went over to Grizzly's to find something to eat for lunch. Another obstacle in my 24-Day Challenge! But I was ready to make conscious correct eating choices!!! Bring it on, Grizzly's!!!
So, I was actually feeling like a salad and I saw their "Apple Pecan Salad" I read the ingredients and I was hooked!
(✓) 2 servings of ice berg/romaine lettuce
(✓) GRAPE HALVES!!
(✓) APPLE HALVES!!
(✓) Raspberry Vinaigrette on the side!!

Wow, I tell you, this salad was AH-MAY-ZING!!!!! Who would have thought that grapes and apples on a salad would be good?! Oh my goodness, with a little hint of the Raspberry Vinaigrette, it was perfecto! I loved it! YUM YUM! Even though I got a couple of "scoffs" from the boys I was eating lunch with... saying "I want the Apple pecan salad, without the pecans, and cheese, and other items". They just don't know what they were missing! Although the smell of their smothered fried chicken sandwiches with cheesy hash browns was enticing, I enjoyed my salad to the FULL extent!!

Snack:
(✓) Cherry tomatoessssssssssssssssssss! AHHH! I LOVE THEM!!!

Supper:
So, supper on this day was our infamous steak fry put on by the Onalaska Jaycees. MMMM... Steak. I was so excited to find out the my Mom & Dad were coming up to the steak fry along with Rich & Rose! WOOT! That was exciting! But, time for me to make good choices with foooooood again!

(✓) Salad with romaine lettuce
(✓) Cherry TOMATOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
(✓) French Dressing (just a dab.. that was pretty much the only decent dressing we had! :))
(✓) Steak! (I was thinking it was probably 2 servings worth... SO DELICIOUS!!)
(✓) Water
(✓) 4 OmegaPlex with dinner

Oh my goodness, I was full after I had eaten my meal! I was REALLY proud of myself when I chose my items for my salad. I LOVE loading my salad with cottage cheese, shredded cheese, bacon bits, sunflower seeds, and a several ladles of dressing! I knew what I had to do and I just did it! I enjoyed my salad with just tomatoes and lettuce! I still find myself wanting to add the yummy extras to my salads, but once I have the salad in front of me, I am good to go!

I had another great day of making good choices!!! It's not as hard as I thought it was going to be! :) I know I had eaten slighty more than what is suggested, but they were all good choices!

Later night snack: (I was hungry :))
(✓) apple
(✓) baked potato with pleasoning seasoning
(✓) herbal cleanse before bed!

Day 5 (Recap)

I've been lacking a little on blogging for this past weekend, but here is my recap of Friday, April 15th.

(✓) 1 pro-biotic cleanse packet
(✓) water
Breakfast:
(✓)2 Bananas
(✓)Spark
Snack:
(✓) 2 Hard Boiled Eggs
Lunch:
(✓) 2 servings of ice berg lettuce with some apple cider vinegar
(✓) apple

Supper:
I had gotten done with work at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and Cole met me at work to get something for supper. We were both trying to find something that we would both like and a place where I could get something healthy! We decided on Ardie's and I ordered a salad that consisted of:
(✓) 2 servings of ice berg lettuce
(✓) hard boiled eggs (halves)
(✓) tomatoes
(✓) carrots
(✓) turkey & ham pieces. I couldn't tell if the turkey and ham were lunch meat cut up or not, so I "picked through" my salad and ate the "goodies, i.e. veggies!"
(✓) Italian Dressing
(✓) water
(✓) 4 OmegaPlex with dinner

The salad at Ardie's was DELICIOUS! They did have a little pleasoning seasoning there, so I added a sprinkle to a hard boiled egg half, but just enjoyed the taste of the hard boiled egg in it's natural taste. The salad was really fresh and I was full after I was done eating! I had the leftover pieces of ham and turkey bits still on my plate, but I did not feel compelled to eat them! Supper was fabulous :)

Snack:
(✓) apple
(✓) herbal cleanse packet before bed!

DAY 5! - April 15th

Woo! One work week down! I can't believe how fast this is going! :)

So, this morning, I get a "nice" (<---sarcasm) wake up call from my alarm clock. I forgot I had left the 5:30 a.m. alarm on my clock radio...REALLY?!? So, I get up to use the restroom... and I didn't feel quite compelled to go back to sleep, but every other morning I would crawl back under the covers and hope the next alarm would not wake me until another 28 minutes later... I laid there in bed. I was telling myself, I should get up. The other part of myself was saying... "you always go back to sleep" as myself was contemplating going back to sleep for that now, extra 26 minutes... I gave up on the "back & forth" mental convo I was having and got up.... WHAT?! Me get up... on time!? Wow. This is insane! So... I got up, showered and got ready for the day? AdvoCare helping my body get on a schedule? I THINK SO!

(✓) 1 pro-biotic cleanse packet
(✓) water
Breakfast:
(✓)2 Bananas
(✓)Spark
Snack:
(✓) 2 Hard Boiled Eggs
Lunch:
(✓) 2 servings of ice berg lettuce & the combo of julienne*** carrots & red cabbage! (***Wanna know where I remember the word julienne?? You probably don't care, but I remember growing up and watching the movie "Aladdin" and in the beginning where the peasant person is telling the story of Aladdin, he has this contraption he is trying to sell, and his words are "even makes julienne fries"!! Hahaha!, ahhh..... I guess Disney movies are still a part of my life when I'm this old.... LOL!!!)

Day 4!! - April 14th

Why Hello There :)

I am currently on "Daaaayyyy Fooouuuurrr"!! (Said in a loud announcers voice) :) Day 4 I am feeling really good! SERIOUSLY! I had to wake up EXTRA early this morning for my meeting and I got up only after 1, 15 minute snooze! WOO! That is extremely good for me!

I remember when I was a kid, I would be up before the sun rose and showering and getting ready by the time you could see the bus through the trees on a school day. I never had an issue with getting up and getting my butt in gear for the day. Lately, it has been the opposite. There have been times where I hit the snooze button so many times that my alarm STOPS trying to wake me up... just an FYI... I have my alarm set on my cellphone AND my clock radio. They go off within 5 minutes of each other and I STILL manage to groggily shut/turn both off! NOT GOOD...

Anyways... back to DAaayyy Fouuurrrr....besides the fact I had to wake up earlier than normal and come into work and have a couple meetings during the day, I felt good. Usually, this day of the month I dread because I have so much going on! Today was different. I felt VERY focused on getting what I had to do, done. I didn't stress about the things that I had to do at the last minute and today just flew by! I love those days that just fly by :)

So, recap of AdvoCare Day 4:
(✓)Probiotic Restore Packet when I was getting ready for work...
(WOO! Today there was NO FIBER DRINK!)
Breakfast:
(✓)I had 2 servings of baby carrots because I forgot to bring my fruit to work this morning! I munched on them up until my 2nd meeting of the day...(DOH!)
(✓)SPARK! (Boy did I need it!)
Lunch:
Lunch was tricky today because I have to go to a meeting at a Pizza Parlor...oooo soooo tempting to have a slice (or 3!) of pizza and my Dt. Dew! Nope! I was good! I chose lettuce, a scoop of chopped hard boiled eggs, black & green olives and a Italian Vinaigrette dressing. I had to have something to top off my salad. It was fat free and I think 45 cals per serving and I had 1/2 a serving with my salad for taste. I was still hungry after my first meeting and had to stay for the board meeting so I grabbed another serving of lettuce and a couple chopped black & green olives again. (There were no hard boiled eggs left! SAD!) And then I just used the 1/2 serving I had left for that salad. (Whoosh...I sure had to describe lunch in detail!)
Mid-Afternoon:
(✓)3 Hard boiled Eggs with Pleasoning
(✓)2 Bananas

--------------------- Update!
(✓)1 Banana on the way out to Shake 'N Shed
(✓)3 Catalyst! (Hopefully this will work for me! This is the "Lipo in a bottle" woo! I hope this will help my "udders" lol....I don't got "bat wings" I got me some UDDERS! Well, minus the teets part?!)
---------------------
ZUMBA with Anne & Dani! (60 minutes)
Hip Hop Hustle with Anne! (45 minutes)
---------------------
I got home and I was HUN-GRY!
(✓) 4 OmegaPlex (I can't do 6 again quite yet!)
(✓) 2 Hard boiled eggs with Pleasoning
(✓) 1.5+ servings of boiled broccoli
(✓) 1 serving of boiled corn!
(✓) 1 apple for snack
(✓) Herbal cleanse packet (Eep! For some reason... I just can't get over the smell/taste of these 3 pills? BLACH! I try to get that part done ASAP... then I drink a lot of water to get the taste out of my mouth and then I end up waking myself up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom :P Ok, TMI, but it happens! Not a big deal....)

Good night sleep at 10:00 p.m. ish!

Day 3 Recap - April 13th

---------------------------------

I saw on one of Becky's comments (and I talked with her at Zumba toning last night) that I can/should be eating more. I actually felt better when I ate more veggies and added the hard boiled eggs! That was such a good meal! I did feel really good and I did follow the 24-day Challenge well!

The only "challenge" I'm still having with the 24-Day Challenge is the drinking water part. I just seem to "forget to drink water" and I guess I hope that this does not effect my outcome. I know Becky mentioned to have "chugging" sessions, but it feels like the day passes before I get a chance to think about drinking water! Don't get me wrong, I do drink my fair share of water, but I know I still can do better!

I do like the "flavor packets" and I had one yesterday, but I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, but heck, if it makes the taste of water easier to down, I think a little bit won't hurt too bad :)

Here Cookie, Cookie!

Now you can see first hand what I have to put up with at work! As I had mentioned in "Day 1" blog... someone HAD to bring in a GINORMOUS plate of homemade, delectable, mouth watering, chocolaty chippy, chewy goodness... (need I go on!?)I mean, these suckers were the size of my fist...Oh my, I seriously wanted 1 (or 5!!) I would have been the first one to down a set of cookies by the time they were placed on the counter...I..MUST..RESIST!! And resist I have. 3 Days without Dt. Dew & now 3 days without the discs of sweetness.

There were so many times where I just wanted to "cheat" and sneak a cookie. I want this to be so worth it. If I do not have any will-power today, what will tomorrow bring?

So, as I pass this plate each time I head to the water cooler, I just say to myself: No, it's so not worth it! :)

------------------------------
Update on AdvoCare Day 3:
Breakfast:
(✓)Fiber Drink (way, way easier today!!)
(✓)Spark
(✓)Handful of Carrots (I didn't have any fruit this mornin' for bfast!)
Lunch: (A Quick Trip to Kwik Trip :P, because I forgot my tuna!)
(✓)Can of tuna
(✓)2 servings of ice berg lettuce
(✓)apple cider vinegar for taste
(✓)handful of carrots
(✓)raspberry flavored water (sugar free!)
------------------------------
One thing I have noticed about my 3rd day on the challenge is that I am able to appreciate the taste of natural foods. Before, I would have to have some sort of dressing or additives, such as cottage cheese, bacon bits, etc. to cover up the taste of lettuce, because I thought the taste of lettuce was just way too bland. I really can tell the difference in my body being receptive to veggies & fruits without any additives :) It is a good feeling!

Day 3 is feeling really good!!

"Can Dew" Attitude!!

.......Diet Mtn. Dew? More like, Diet Mtn. DON'T!! :P

Ok, I'm probably being a major dork right now. But I was looking at my desk at work and I saw my last empty can of Dt. Dew from Friday, April 8th. It honestly felt SO GOOD to not be under my "Dt. Dew Addiction". This is crazy to say this, but every day when I would get to work, I would get to my desk, start up my computer and then head over to the soda machine and drop my 2 quarters and press the evil button. There were days that I would take out an "IOU" from the cash drawer to feed my addiction! Some days, I would even have 2 Dt. Dews within a couple hours of each other. I felt I needed that "kick" in the morning. YUCK.

So, this is my tribute to the last empty can on my desk. I use it more as a trophy than anything :) I now welcome SPARK with open arms! YAY!

Yeay! Bring on Day 3!!

Day 2 - April 12th

As my previous blog stated, I did some grocery shopping today :)

I was really doing well with the AdvoCare challenge!

After lunch, I had a handful of baby carrots with some apple cider vinegar for taste and then I drank some more water. I was hungry on my way out to Shake 'N Shed tonight for 5:30 p.m. Zumba, but I forgot I was hungry when I started class with Anne! Yay, I love class with Anne!

So, I got home tonight and had a banana after my workout and then the 6 OmegaPlex with dinner, which consisted of ice berg lettuce and a can of tuna + a shake of some Pleasoning Seasoning!! YUM!

I was really sad as I was looking through my bags for my bedtime herbal cleanse and I found out that I forgot the cleanse box at work. GRR!! I was not about to let Day 2 of my Challenge go out the window, so I trekked back to work and got my bedtime herbal cleanse! Crazy? To some people. But I want this to work to the best of my ability and I'm not going to let a little drive stand in the way of my goals!!

As I got home, I was still hungry so I had a bowl of salad with a splash of apple cider vinegar along with another banana. I downed the bedtime herbal cleanse with some great-big gulps of water. Is it just me, or do they taste a bit "funky"...? Eh, the taste is just for a split second as I wash 'em down with water...

Oh yeah, AND I boiled some eggs for tomorrow! I LOVE hard-boiled eggs! :)

Anywoot, it's time for bed for me...Or at least play a couple games of "Wheel-of-Fortune" on my phone (hehe!)

Good night and Look out Day 3!

Thanks!

Thank you Becky & Pam for your support! I am excited for everything! I did follow the grocery shopping list this morning when I went shopping for foods for the challenge :) I know Day 2 will be a lot better than Day 1! I feel great after Day 1 and it is true, you do feel "lighter"!

The only issue I have is drinking water throughout the day. I have never been a big water drinker, so I'm keeping a water bottle within my eyesight!

I did the fiber drink this morning and I didn't let it sit as long as I did on day 1 and it went down a lot better! I had a banana about 30 minutes later and I was good to go for the morning! I had a little bit of Spark to wake me up :) and then I headed over to Festival for some healthy foods! (I LOVE the NuVal™ Nutritional Scoring System that helps you cut through confusing nutrition information so you can make decisions about food quickly and easily — and feel good about your choices!) So much easier than looking at the back of every product for the best choice!!

I got:
4 cans of Tuna with water
1 can of salmon
1 frozen bag of broccoli
1 frozen bag of corn
1 frozen bag of green beans
2 bags of iceberg lettuce
1 bag of baby carrots
1 small bottle of apple cider vinegar
2 cucumbers
1 carton of large eggs
---------------------------------
So for lunch, I had iceberg lettuce, 1 can of tuna and some apple cider vinegar!! (The vinegar gave it the tang of salad dressing! Everything went together really well! YUM!)

Ok... I'm going to try to drink more water now!

Day 1 (Recap)

I think I should write at the end of the day, so I am able to blog everything, rather than having several blogs about the same day :) (That's me thinking out loud)

Okay, so, Day 1 recap:
Breakfast:
Fiber Drink (✓)
--> Meal Replacement Shake (Should not have taken that...)
1/2 Spark (✓)
Lunch:
Salad with no dressing (✓)
2 Bananas(✓)
1/2 Spark (✓)
Dinner:
1/2 "Bornk" from Erbert & Gerbert's
(Never had it before, but it was tuna and onions with lettuce and tomatoes, so I thought it was my best choice! EWW! I did not like that 1/2 sub AT ALL!!) It didn't settle with me very well. As I looked back at my AdvoCare binder, I saw that I did not make a very good choice with the bread & mayo combo... I will get better!
6 OmegaPlex (✓)
Dinner Snack:
Apple
Herbal Cleanse with water before bed! (✓)

I think overall, I just need to pay more attention to the AdvoCare sheet... and that's what I did last night. I read the 24-day Challenge very thoroughly so hopefully Day 2 will be more successful!

Day 1! - April 11th

Hello Hello,

Today, I officially started my 24-Day AdvoCare Challenge! It does seem like there is a lot to be aware of, but I am up for the Challenge :) I started this morning, checking my 24-Day Challenge Schedule and I had to become familiar with the products. I was confused on the "fiber drink" and "meal replacement shake" and so I discovered that I had to take the "fiber drink" in the "herbal cleanse" pack.

I did talk with my doctor to see if there were anything that I should be aware of when taking my medications, and she said that I would be fine taking AdvoCare and my meds! Woo!

So, I shook up the fiber drink.... and it did look intimidating like it said, but I just chugged it and it was over. There was nothing to it. I didn't taste too bad either. I think next time I will try blending it with ice like a smoothie :)

I do feel pretty good! I took a "meal replacement shake" for breakfast and it tasted awesome! And of course, it was chocolate, my favorite. Right now I added a spark to my water and I think I'm going to Kwik Trip soon to gather some fruit for lunch. I am very excited about my 24-Day Challenge!

I tell you, there are many temptations around every corner at work! Of course, the day I start my challenge, someone baked home-made chocolate chip cookies. I WILL NOT GIVE IN! I would have totally snuck a couple and ate them for breakfast and then would take a couple more for lunch. NO MORE! I am sticking to this because my life does depend on it!

I am on my way to better choices and seriously, I can go 10 days without fried foods/candy/unhealthy food!!

More to come...:)

I did it!

So, I had some final questions about AdvoCare and my want for food was too overwhelming for me to control yesterday. So you're probably wanting to know what I ate yesterday?

4 Hot Pockets. Yep. 4 Hot Pockets, oh wait "Lean Pockets". But seriously, I ate 4 of them throughout the day and I was still hungry. They just tasted so good... EEK.

I have this yearning for food or something, that I cannot control. I just tell myself I'm not hungry, then my subconscious gets in the way of conscious and then I tend to binge on food, or shall I say, "over eat". I can't keep living like this! Me wanting food all of the time is stressful. Bah.

Well, today, Kim came over and met with me and she helped me order some AdvoCare. Yep. I did it. I can't wait to get the 24-day challenge in the mail! I guess it's coming on FRIDAY! Woo! Exciting :)

Well, after my belly is done groaning from the Chinese buffet I had for lunch, I'm signing off!

Good night and sweet dreams of sweet dreams :)

Saturday, April 2, 2011

Hello!

I just wanted to start this blog as a recording of what is going on in my life as of 2011. For most of you reading this, you already know the following answers. My name is Melisa and I am 26 years old. I currently am working full-time and I am very active in the Jaycees. I know this information is vague, but, it'll give you an idea of who I am.

The reason I started this blog (I have been a very big "blogger" in the past) is to record what is happening in my life as of right now. You see, I feel inspired and passionate about what I will be revealing in a little bit, but I will first tell you a little about my background story...

I have always been active throughout my younger years in High School. Playing Volleyball was the best, even though I was not very good at it. I continued with Volleyball for 4 years in High School and then I tried Track & Field for 1 year while I was a Junior. So, for the most part, I got my exercise and my well-balanced, home-cooked meals everyday.

After I went off to college, I began making my own choices on what I wanted to eat and when I wanted to eat it. Can we say, "ice cream social" in the dorm elevator at 2:00 a.m.? Yes, sneaky, smart? Probably not. Throughout college, I played on inter-mural volleyball teams, which gave me a workout once and a while. I was never really the kind of girl to "go for a run" or "go to the gym". Possibly intimidation? Or just lack of motivation...

Anyways, if you're following this, you can probably tell that I was not being as active as I once was. With not being active, and not being able to say "NO" to fast foods, it was all catching up to me. Do you know the saying "Freshman 15"? If you don't, it's the "general" idea of what happens to students that enroll in college and after their first year, they have gained about 15 lbs. Well, to tell you the truth, I really did not care about my weight. I felt fine with who I was and that was that.

Eventually, I did step on the scale at home once and a while and look at the number and be like, yeah right, that's not right; step off the scale and be on my way...

I never really started noticing myself as a person who was unhealthy. Like I said, I was happy with who I was and that was all that mattered.

Fast forward to a year ago: After unhealthy relationships with food, not being able to feel full after I was done eating, not being motivated to go to the gym...(talk about an easy couple $100 dollars from unused gym memberships) and having the most crazy, addiction to candy, I said enough was enough.

One of the true transformations I have recently made in my life was discovering "Shake 'N Shed". For those of you who don't know about it, you can Google it :) This has been one of the most positive things I have done for my life in such a long time.

Through Shake 'N Shed, I have meet some AMAZING people and I have been an inspiration to others. (I could go into details, but I guess this is not what I want my blog to be about!)

Fast forward again to the present day, I met Becky at Shake 'N Shed and she introduced me to AdvoCare a couple of weeks ago. I had met her back in September/October of 2010 and she was just becoming an instructor at Shake 'N Shed. I then saw her again for the first time, in a LONG time at the beginning of March, and let me tell you, she looked AWESOME. She had really slimmed down and had lots of energy (even though she had a ton before :)) But, I seriously couldn't help myself from asking her how she did it.

AdvoCare. Advo-What? Was my response... I have never heard of that before. She then began talking to me about the products and what they have done to transform her life. Wait-a-minute...You said you've only been on the products for a little over 2 months and you had such an unbelievable result?! What the heck!? How.is.that.even.possible.?

Becky and I talked and talked about AdvoCare. She told me what she had gone through and what she is working on for a goal. Yikes, she surpassed my goal of slimming down in the AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge.

Was I hooked? Yes. What I a skeptic. HECK Yes.

Becky has been sending me links/attachments of the different AdvoCare products. I was still skeptical. This is UNREAL how someone can transform their body. Becky then gave me the name of her Advisor Kim.

Kim and I met last night. Wow, she is super nice and very, very easy to talk to. Her and I chatted for a bit and then she gave me a "Spark" to try out. I was thinking, eh, chalky tasking, gross stuff, but in turn, really told my sweet-tooth, bye bye.

Throughout the time Kim and I were talking, I still was not able to wrap my head around the possibilities with AdvoCare. It almost seems like these products are too good to be true. All, I wanted to do was take the 24-day challenge and hopefully get results.

Ah! This is nerve racking, because I have done my research and I have done my talking until I was blue in the face. I want to live a better lifestyle. I honestly cannot do it by myself. It has been tried. I like food and candy way too much!

After meeting with Kim, I had a sense of excitement. My boyfriend had stopped over and heard the tail-end of us chatting. I was all pumped and he was the skeptic this time.

I told Kim that I will let her know what I want to do with AdvoCare in the next couple of days! YES! YIKES! YIPPEE! (sorry)

I am just going to do a little food diary to show my progress:

Last Night 4/1/11 -
1 1/2 Batter fried Fish
1/2 order of Au Gratin Potatoes
1/2 a LARGE bag of buttered popcorn
1/2 a LARGE Sprite

This morning 4/2/11
(Leftovers at 8:30 a.m.)
1/2 Batter fried fish
1/2 Order of Au Gratin Potatoes
Juice
(Now I'm HUNGRY!!)

I must go find something to eat!

Here's to the journey to a better life & lifestyle!
